This outdoor museum houses one of the most important contemporary art collections in Brazil. Situated in Brumadinho in 97 hectare area includes a botanical garden by the landscape design agency of Roberto Burle Marx, the Inhotim Institute was founded in 2002 and holds nearly 500 works by artists from different nationalities, especially Brazilian, from the 1960s to the present. Artworks by Cildo Meirelles, Tunga, and Adriana Varejão, for example, are exhibited inside pavilions, while sculptures are distributed throughout the park.
